What Is the Zen Den?

A private therapy room designed to give your nervous system a real break.

The Zen Den is a calm, low-stimulus space at K-Counseling & Anxiety Treatment in Boise, Idaho. Inside, three clinically supported, drug-free modalities work together in a single session:

NeuroFeedback: Sensors placed gently on your scalp read your brainwave activity in real time. The system gives your brain subtle feedback, helping it shift toward calmer, more regulated patterns. No effort required.

Alpha-Stim: A small, FDA-cleared device delivers microcurrent therapy to help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and ease pain at the level of your nervous system.

Red Light Therapy: Low-level red and near-infrared light supports cellular recovery, reduces inflammation, and promotes calm. Research links it to improvements in mood, sleep quality, and overall wellbeing.

Together, clients describe it as a mind vacation. The first session is always complimentary.

Sit Back and Let It Work

You rest while the technology does its job. Watch calming visuals, listen to music, or simply close your eyes. Most clients find the 33-minute session deeply restorative. Some fall asleep.

Check In and Track Progress

After your session, Kade reviews what your brain showed during the session and checks in on how you feel. Over time he adjusts the protocol based on your patterns, so each session builds on the last.

How Many Sessions Does It Take?

One session gives most people a noticeable sense of calm.

Sustained, lasting changes in anxiety, sleep, and emotional regulation typically develop over 10 to 20 sessions, as the brain builds new regulatory patterns through repeated training.

K-Counseling recommends starting with the complimentary first session to see how your brain and body respond before committing to a plan.
